Meteorological Organization was established on 23 March 1950. And since then, March 23 started being celebrated as Meteorological Day all over the world.
The headquarters of the Meteorological Organization is in Geneva, Switzerland. A slogan has been written on the organization’s website regarding Meteorological Day. Which means this day shows the ‘essential contribution of the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services’.
What is the theme of the year?
Every year a different theme is kept for World Meteorological Day. In the year 2023, the theme was ‘The future of weather, climate and water across generations’, whereas this year in 2024 the theme is ‘At the frontline of climate action’.
